Farmer’s Market Booth Ideas

FARMER'S MARKET BOOTH SET UP

Every baker’s booth needs to be set up in a manner that works for them and we all have different styles and different tastes. However, there are a few pointers that can help us get set-up in a manner that works for visitors. One commonality I’ve found among baker booths is that walk-in booths don’t seem to work well. They do seem to work well for vendors selling clothing, candles, etc., but, for whatever reason, I have found that visitors are hesitant to browse “inside” a booth that is selling food. Instead, it is better to make sure food is front and center so they can walk by and glance at everything available and be more apt to make a purchase. Here are a few ideas that make for an ideal bakery booth set-up:

  • Booth is visually appealing
  • Booth has clear branding
  • Booth has a sign indicating the name of the business but also a clear sign indicating what is being sold (ex: bread or cookies, etc.)
  • Booth is organized
  • Food is front and center as mentioned above
  • Products are organized
  • Products have a Baker is up and greeting visitors rather than sitting down

Let’s take a look at the following images and determine the pros and cons.

Though this vendor is not a baker, it is still a great example of an excellent booth set up.

Pros:

  • Clean and organized
  • Simple, clear branding
  • Visually appealing aesthetic
  • Vendor is standing and ready
Cons:
  • Walk in booth…which likely works for this vendor but often doesn’t work for bakers
  • A second sign somewhere that tells exactly what is being sold would be an asset

Cons:
  • Branding with colors, etc., is lacking a bit
  • A large sign indicating “Cheesecake Sold Here” or something similar would be an asset

  • Lots of food front and center but the food in the back also works well since it draws the eye and there is enough up front already
  • Organized
Cons:
  • A large sign indicating “BREAD” or something similar would be an asset

Baking Booth Example

Pros:
